Jessica Mateo, M.A., BCBA, LBA
Jessica Mateo is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who is passionate about providing children and families with tools to develop meaningful skills that support long-term growth. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from High Point University before moving to Spain, where she lived in both Barcelona and Madrid while working as an English Language Assistant. During that time, she completed a Master’s in Bilingual and Multicultural Education at the Universidad de Alcalá, enriching her understanding of language, culture, and inclusive education.
Jessica joined the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in 2017 and was drawn to its blend of evidence-based science, creativity, and real-life impact. Since becoming a BCBA in 2022, she has worked with children and young adults across a range of developmental profiles, using a naturalistic, person-centered approach.
Her goals align with what truly matters to each client and family, focusing on skill development that leads to meaningful, lasting change. She brings curiosity and flexibility to her sessions, viewing behavior change as a collaborative process built on trust, trial-and-error, and ongoing problem-solving. A fluent Spanish speaker, Jessica especially enjoys supporting Spanish-speaking families and ensuring that care is accessible, affirming, and effective.
